Configure your DAW

Follow the instructions to control your DAW by SL Mixface. ## Set your DAW in SL Mixface settings 1. Keep pressed **DAW/CTRL** to access to the **GLOBAL EDIT**. 2. Choose **Global Settings** and then **DAW Port and type**. 3. Select your DAW as **Type**. ## Ableton Live ![Ableton logo](logo_ableton.png =50x50) 1. Set `Ableton Live` in [SL Mixface settings](#set-your-daw-in-sl-mixface-settings). 2. Launch Ableton Live and choose **About Live** > **Preferences...**. 3. In the dialog box, open the tab **Link MIDI** and set the parameters as follow: | Parameter | Value | |-------------------|--------------------------| | *Control Surface* | `MackieControl` | | *Input Port* | `SLMIXUSB (Port 3)`* | | *Output Port* | `SLMIXUSB (Port 3)`* | * In case of Bluetooth connection, choose `SLMIX BT` instead of `SLMIXUSB`. ## Apple Logic ![Logic Pro logo](logo_logicpro.png =50x50) Logic Pro can only be controlled via USB cable. Bluetooth option is not available. 1. Set `Logic-GarageB.` in [SL Mixface settings](#set-your-daw-in-sl-mixface-settings). 2. Download and install the add-on based on the version of Logic Pro in use: Logic Pro 10.6 or higher Logic Pro lower than 10.6 *In case of issues installing the package, see [manual installation](#add-on-manual-installation).* 3. Launch Logic Pro and choose **Logic Pro > Preferences**. 4. In the **Control Surfaces** tab make sure SL Mixface is properly recognized and enabled. 5. For more customizations, enable **Advanced Tools** from the **Advanced** tab. Go back to the **Control Surfaces** tab and press **Setup...** to show all the options. ### Add-on release notes **2.0** Added compatibility with Logic Pro 10.6.x. Full compatibility with macOS Big Sur and Apple Silicon. **1.1** Fixed an issue that prevented the operation of some buttons after having used the Cicle function. **1.0** Initial release. ### Add-on manual installation Follow this procedure only if you encountered issues with the installation package. 1. Download the package. Logic Pro add-on 2.0 2. Extract it and copy the folder ***Audio Music Apps*** into your user’s ***Music*** folder so that the full path will be. `yourusername/Music/Audio Music Apps/ MIDI Device Scripts/STUDIOLOGIC/SLMIXUSB.device` ## Apple Garage Band ![Garage Band logo](logo_garageband.png =50x50) Garage Band can only be controlled via USB cable. Bluetooth option is not available. iOS version is not supported. 1. Set `Logic-GarageB.` in [SL Mixface settings](#set-your-daw-in-sl-mixface-settings). 2. Download and install the add-on. Apple add-on 3. Bluetooth option is not available. 1. Set `Pro Tools` in [SL Mixface settings](#set-your-daw-in-sl-mixface-settings). 2. Launch ProTools and choose **Setup** > **Peripherals...**. 3. In the dialog box, open the tab **MIDI Controllers** and set the parameters as follow: | Parameter | Value | |----------------|--------------------------| | *Type* | `HUI` | | *Receive from* | `SLMIXUSB (Port 3)`* | | *Send to* | `SLMIXUSB (Port 3)`* | * In case of Bluetooth connection, choose `SLMIX BT` instead of `SLMIXUSB`. ## Cockos Reaper ![Reaper logo](logo_reaper.png =50x50) 1. Set `Reaper` in [SL Mixface settings](#set-your-daw-in-sl-mixface-settings). 1. Launch Reaper and choose **Reaper > Preferences...**. 2. In the side menu, open the **Control/OSC/web** section and press **Add**. 3. In the dialog box, set the parameters as follow: | Parameter | Value | |-----------------------|----------------------------| | *Controlsurface mode* | `Mackie Control Universal` | | *Midi input* | `SLMIXUSB (Port 3)`* | | *Midi output* | `SLMIXUSB (Port 3)`* | * In case of Bluetooth connection, choose `SLMIX BT` instead of `SLMIXUSB`. ## Motu Digital Performer ![Digital Performer logo](logo_dp.png =50x50) 1. Set `Digital Performer` in [SL Mixface settings](#set-your-daw-in-sl-mixface-settings). 2. Launch Digital Performer and choose **Setup** > **Control Surface Setup**. 3. In the dialog box, set the parameters as follow: | Parameter | Value | |---------------|--------------------------| | *Driver* | `Mackie Control` | | *Unit* | `Mackie Control` | | *Input Port* | `SLMIXUSB (Port 3)`* | | *Output Port* | `SLMIXUSB (Port 3)`* | * In case of Bluetooth connection, choose `SLMIX BT` instead of `SLMIXUSB`. ## Presonus Studio One ![Studio One logo](logo_studioone.jpg =50x50) 1. Set `Studio One` in [SL Mixface settings](#set-your-daw-in-sl-mixface-settings). 2. Launch Studio One and choose **Studio One > Preferences...** 3. In the dialog box, select the tab **Link MIDI** and press **Add...** 4. On the left list choose **Mackie > Control** and set the parameters as follow: | Parameter | Value | |----------------|-------------------------------| | *Device Name* | as you like (e.g. SL Mixface) | | *Receive from* | `SLMIXUSB (Port 3)`* | | *Send to* | `SLMIXUSB (Port 3)`* | * In case of Bluetooth connection, choose `SLMIX BT` instead of `SLMIXUSB`. ## Propellerhead Reason ![Reason logo](logo_reason.png =50x50) 1. Set `Reason` in [SL Mixface settings](#set-your-daw-in-sl-mixface-settings). 2. Download and install the add-on. Windows macOS 3. Launch Reason and choose **Reason** > **Preferences...** 4. In the dialog box, select the tab **Control Surfaces** and press **Auto-detect Surfaces**. When the scan is complete, Mixface will automatically be selected. 5. Close the Preferences and open the **Mixer** section. 6. Right click on the Master Track, enable ***Lock Studiologic Mixface to this Device***. ## Steinberg Cubase/Nuendo ![Cubase logo](logo_cubase.png =50x50) ![Nuendo logo](logo_nuendo.png =50x50) 1. Set `Cubase/Nuendo` in [SL Mixface settings](#set-your-daw-in-sl-mixface-settings). 2. Download and install [Steinberg SKI Remote](https://www.steinberg.net/en/support/content_and_accessories/steinberg_ski_remote.html). 3. Launch Cubase or Nuendo and choose **Studio** > **Studio Setup**. 3. In the dialog box, select **Mackie Control** on the left column and set `SLMIXUSB (Port 3)`* as MIDI Input and Output. * In case of Bluetooth connection, choose `SLMIX BT` instead of `SLMIXUSB`. ## Steinberg Cubasis ![Cubasis logo](logo_cubasis.png =50x50) Cubasis for Android is not supported.
1. Set `Cubase-Nuendo` in [SL Mixface settings](#set-your-daw-in-sl-mixface-settings). 1. Launch Cubasis. 1. Go to Cubasis settings > **MIDI**. 2. In *MIDI Over Bluetooth* touch **HOST**, then choose `SLMIX BT`.
1. Set `Cubase-Nuendo` in [SL Mixface settings](#set-your-daw-in-sl-mixface-settings). 1. Launch Cubasis. 2. Connect SL Mixface ***device*** port to your iOS device. 3. Go to Cubasis settings > **MIDI**. 4. In *Mackie Control HUI* touch **HOST**, then choose `SLMIXUSB Port 3`.
