Keyboard player/composer Alessandro Bertoni, was born and raised in Treviso, Italy. Classical trained at the Conservatory, he attended classical piano lessons, harmony and theory for about 8 years.
After that, he approached to jazz and contemporary music language, attending courses and workshops in Milan and Padua and started going into this musical direction since then.
He moved to Los Angeles and was a student of the Keyboard Program ( KIT ) at the Musicians Institute in Hollywood and got in contact with the finest LA musical scene and had lessons with top-class teachers and performers such as Cartlon Schroeder, Russ Ferrante, Henry"Soleh" Brewer and many others.
His musical/playing style encompasses prog-rock, fusion, nu-funk, nu-jazz. And he's practicing and composing in various media and styles. His formula for music is definitely played by those who display their prowess with long ascending soulful and tasteful grooves also with an attitude of playing with balls and fire.
As composer and band-founder he released his full length debut album "Aphelion - Franticode - " mixed by in Los Angeles by the famous keyboardist Derek Sherinian. "Franticode" gained valuable popularity as a world acclaimed release due to its on-your-face and intense instrumental technicality, well-blended with jazz/fusion oriented sense of phrase.
He collaborated with a variety of world class players, like the bassist and vocalist Chris Buck, drummer Sam "The Bull" Aliano, Canadian bassist Rod Chappel (Lightspeed), Italian prog/rock band Gardenwall, Alberto Rigoni and many others from different musical background all over the world. He works as a session player, educator and teacher both in Italy and in Los Angeles.
His debut solo album " Keystone" is due by Summer 2013 - It is being produced by D. Sherinian and features by Virgil Donati - drums, Ric Fierabracci - bass and Brett Garsed on guitar.
